A law firm seeks a skilled Civil Litigation Attorney to join its team in San Diego, California. This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys with experience in civil litigation and insurance defense. The ideal candidate will be proactive in managing cases, preparing for litigation, and handling client interactions effectively. A minimum of two years of experience in civil litigation is required, with a focus on courtroom involvement and dispute resolution. Duties: Manage a diverse caseload of civil litigation and insurance defense matters. Prepare and draft legal documents, including discovery requests, motions, and settlement agreements. Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations. Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure efficient case management and resolution. Provide clients with timely updates and strategic legal advice. Participate in trial preparation, including witness preparation and evidence organization (trial experience is a plus but not mandatory). Work closely with senior attorneys on more complex cases when necessary. Requirements: At least 2 years of experience in civil litigation and insurance defense. Strong understanding of civil procedure and litigation practices. Experience attending and preparing for court hearings, depositions, and arbitration. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines. A proactive, detail-oriented approach to case management and client service. Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Certifications: Active membership in the California State Bar. Skills: Expertise in civil litigation, including drafting pleadings, discovery, and settlement documents. Strong negotiation and dispute-resolution skills. Experience with courtroom procedures and litigation strategy. Familiarity with insurance defense practices. Proficient in legal research and case management software.
