Supervisory Program Manager (Digital Communications Branch Chief)

This position is in the Digital and Executive Communications Staff (DECS), Office of Public Affairs and Consumer Education (OPACE). The mission of DECS is to identify and develop operational and strategic communications that effectively enhance stakeholder understanding of FSIS's public health stance and policies. Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements (including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education) by the closing date of the announcement, as defined below:
Time in grade:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade to be considered for the next higher grade (e.g. one year at the GS-13 grade level for consideration for the GS-14 grade level).
For the GS-14 level:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-13 level) that demonstrates: Managing a team and directing processes that plan, evaluate, and implement digital communications programs and strategies for the agency. Experience counseling or advising others on developing and evaluating technical solutions, managing an agency's digital strategy and presence, evaluating the quality of project and/or team deliverables. Skill in planning and/or organizing competing priorities, making sound and effective administrative technical decisions. Leveraging content management systems, digital best practices, and Federal guidelines to ensure a customer-driven approach for the agency's website. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
