Senior Accountant , where you'll play a critical role in overseeing financial operations and guiding our accounting team to success.
Responsibilities
As the Senior Accountant, you will:
Team Leadership : Supervise and oversee bookkeepers and junior accountants. Ensure timely completion of daily financial tasks, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and expense tracking. Financial Oversight:
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes. Prepare and review adjusting and closing journal entries. Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and credit card accounts. Financial Reporting:
Generate and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial analysis. Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including sales and lodging taxes. Assist in preparing documents for audits and liaise with external auditors as needed. Operational Collaboration:
Partner with operations and management to optimize financial performance and streamline processes. Develop and monitor budgets and forecasts. Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
Education : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA certification is preferred. Experience :
5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in the hospitality or restaurant industry. Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and GAAP.
Technical Skills :
Proficient in accounting software (QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills. Familiarity with POS systems and hotel management software is a plus.
Soft Skills :
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to lead and inspire a team while managing multiple priorities.
