IT Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated IT Support Specialist to join our IT Operations team at our HQ in Chantilly, VA. In this role, you will be responsible for providing first-line support for software, hardware, and network-related issues, ensuring seamless IT operations across the organization. The ideal candidate will be a problem-solver with strong technical skills and a customer-focused approach. Key Responsibilities: Provide first-line phone support for basic software and hardware issues reported via inbound calls, Jira tickets, or email. Utilize Windows Deployment Services (WDS) to re-image operating systems as required. Troubleshoot and support Linux PXI boot configurations. Assist with office setups, including the installation of monitors, desktops, and workstations. Manage office moves by disassembling and setting up computers and related IT equipment. Set up and provide ongoing support for basic user phone configurations (CISCO). Manage user accounts by creating, removing, or disabling accounts in Active Directory. Handle password resets and troubleshoot related issues for users. Deploy and install software, including applications such as Adobe, and ensure configurations are correct. Install and reconfigure software as needed across the organization. Oversee and maintain lab and network areas, ensuring proper functionality and security. Sanitize unused IT equipment following company protocols. Update IT documentation and user support materials, ensuring accuracy and accessibility. Provide support and assistance to Tier 3 administrators as needed. Offer face-to-face customer service interaction, troubleshooting issues and providing solutions in a professional manner. Perform additional duties as assigned to foster professional growth and enhance department efficiency. Qualifications: Associate's degree in Computer Science or related field; or 5 years of equivalent Helpdesk Support experience. Proven experience in an IT support role or similar technical position. Familiarity with Windows Deployment Services (WDS) for OS re-imaging. Knowledge of Linux PXI boot processes. Experience with CISCO phone systems setup and configuration. Hands-on experience with office equipment setup, including monitors, desktops, and workstations. Proficient in Active Directory management (creating, removing, and disabling user accounts). Ability to troubleshoot and resolve password-related issues. Familiarity with common software deployment tools and installation (e.g., Adobe products). Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear, concise instructions and support to end users. Strong customer service skills with a focus on solving problems efficiently and professionally. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required. Relevant certifications, such as Security with CEU's , are required.
