Responsibilities:
  • Program systems based on machine specifications, project scope and/or interactions with Berry team members.
  • Program safe and effective industrial control systems based on a thorough analysis of requirements. Including electrical & pneumatic drawings, bill of material, PLC & HMI design.
  • Execute systematic procedures to insure that the control systems are operating as designed.
  • Add direction, as appropriate, to ensure that debug and test phases of the project run smoothly.
  • Interact and cooperate with other team members to ensure project schedules and budgets are maintained.
  • Work with and manage controls outsource vendors. Maintain sufficient scope, schedule, and costs.
  • Assist in project quotations pertaining to the controls functionality, required equipment, and employee/vendor resources.
  • Comply with all Berry Global, industry, and / or regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a professional presence when traveling to a customer (Berry facility) during install and startup.
  • Adhere to all safety, production and quality guidelines during install/startup of assigned project at customers facility.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • 3-10 years in industrial automation with electro-mechanical, and controls design.
  • Must be able to organize work, prioritize tasks, maintain multiple projects and meet established deadlines.
  • Effectively collaborate with mechanical engineers in the development of automated systems
  • Must have strong working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Must have experience in programming PLC based controls for discrete manufacturing.
  • Experience in programming and commissioning motion control systems including multi-axis robots and servos. Yaskawa experience is a plus.
  • Experience in debugging and testing electro-mechanical systems and controls.
  • Experience in configuring HMIs for discrete manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience in machine vision applications a plus.
  • Experience in creating and editing 2D electrical drawings. Eplan experience a plus.
