JOB SUMMARY:

Provides administrative, reception and programmatic support to Clinical Health Services. Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department. This position is at the Missouri City Annex location.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for opening and closing the clinic: Maintains a clean waiting area.
  • Checks the patients into the clinic by greeting them professionally, answering inquiries and completing the registration process.
  • Informs the appropriate program of patients arrival.
  • Responsible for checking patients out, verify their information, schedule follow up appointment if needed, collect payment, provide work/school excuses.
  • Answers multiphone line promptly and in a pleasant manner, handles the patients needs, makes appointments, takes phone messages, etc.
  • Exercise problem solving and conflict resolution skills when handling patient complaints.
  • Refers patient complaints to appropriate designated personnel as needed.
  • Optimizes provider schedules and patient satisfactions with efficient scheduling.
  • Maintains office inventory and equipment by anticipating supply needs and expediting supply orders.
  • Receives incoming deliveries and sort supplies in appropriate places and notify appropriate programs of deliveries.
  • Comforts patients by anticipating anxieties and effectively answering questions.
  • Ensures availability of treatment information by retrieving and updating patient records.
  • Verifies financial records and collects patient charges.
  • Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • 1 year job related office/clerical experience; experience handling personal health information and maintaining confidentiality preferred.
  • Good computer and typing skills; knowledge of computer applications.
  • Skilled in data entry; good verbal and written communication; strong interpersonal skills; ability to interact and deal effectively with the public and all levels of employees.
  • Organizational skills; ability to complete assigned tasks within tight deadlines and to prioritize own work.
  • Ability to interpret policies and to implement procedures.

SALARY RANGE: $15.00 - $17.53 hourly based on qualifications
