Job Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned Vice President of Supply Chain to lead our global supply chain operations, ensuring that all aspects of demand planning, forecasting, logistics, procurement, and international distribution function seamlessly. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing a hub-and-spoke distribution network, ocean freight negotiations, fostering ocean carrier relationships, and purchasing, with a proven track record in navigating international supply chains. You will drive the company’s supply chain strategy, streamline processes, and foster long-term relationships with key suppliers and carriers to meet evolving business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive supply chain strategy that supports the company’s business goals and growth initiatives.
- Demand Planning & Forecasting: Oversee accurate demand forecasting and planning processes to ensure supply meets demand while minimizing costs, maximizing customer satisfaction, and aligning with sales trends and market conditions.
- Hub-and-Spoke Distribution: Manage and optimize the company’s hub-and-spoke distribution model to enhance operational efficiency, reduce lead times, and ensure timely product delivery to all markets.
- Ocean Freight Management: Lead negotiations for ocean freight contracts, working closely with international carriers to secure competitive rates and ensure service reliability.
- Supplier & Carrier Relationships: Cultivate and maintain strong partnerships with ocean carriers and other logistics providers to optimize shipping performance and cost structures.
- Purchasing & Procurement: Oversee procurement operations, ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and materials, driving cost savings, and managing vendor relationships across diverse geographies.
- International Supply Chain Management: Manage the complexities of international supply chains, including customs, tariffs, and trade compliance, while optimizing global logistics routes and inventory levels.
- Forecast Accuracy & Inventory Optimization: Leverage forecasting models to ensure the right balance of inventory, reduce stock-outs, and optimize warehousing costs.
- Performance Metrics & Reporting: Establish and monitor KPIs for the supply chain, analyzing data to identify trends, improve processes, and ensure operational efficiency.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including Sales, Finance, and Operations, to align supply chain activities with business objectives and customer needs.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain team, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in supply chain management, with a strong focus on demand planning, forecasting, logistics, purchasing, and international supply chains.
- Proven experience in managing hub-and-spoke distribution networks and optimizing supply chain operations across multiple geographies.
- Expertise in ocean freight negotiations and building strong relationships with ocean carriers and logistics providers.
- Experience developing and implementing forecasting models to ensure optimal inventory levels and demand planning accuracy.
- In-depth knowledge of international trade, regulations, and customs processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data and forecasting models to drive decision-making.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Experience with ERP, supply chain management, and forecasting systems.
