TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Edmond, Oklahoma, 73034 About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Job Specialty: Emergency Medical Care (EMC) Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 8-Hour Days, 36 Hours per Week Guaranteed Hours: 36 Experience: 1 Year Required License: Current RN License issued by an appropriate State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC). Certifications: - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (American Heart Association) Must-Have: - Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program - Good verbal and written communication skills - Some computer skills - Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees - Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors Job Description: - Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients. - Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; note all changes in physician orders on assigned patients. - Assist physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment. - Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observing physiological manifestations and intervening when necessary. - Administer medication as prescribed; initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products. - Deliver patient care competently, interacting with families and patients to share care plans during hospital stays and at discharge. - Inform patients and families of hospital procedures. - Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. - Delegate tasks to support staff. - Perform other duties as assigned.
