Job Description Job Title: Registered Nurse - Pediatrics Float Pool Profession: RN Medicine Specialty: Pediatrics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 1 year License: RN License Certifications: Basic Life Support, PALS Must-Have: Pediatric Care Experience
Description: Under general supervision, this role provides nursing care in a hospital setting to patients with a wide range of health issues, from simple to complex.
Core Responsibilities Include: - Managing an assigned group of patients. - Documenting patient responses to nursing interventions and treatments; noting all changes in physician orders for assigned patients. - Assisting physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures. - Monitoring and documenting patients' physiological data; intervening as necessary. - Administering prescribed medications; initiating, regulating, and monitoring IV infusions and blood products. - Delivering competent patient care. - Communicating with family members and patients about care plans and hospital procedures. - Making referrals regarding patient care needs as appropriate. - Delegating tasks to support staff.
General Responsibilities: - Performing other duties as assigned.
Schedule Notes: The position involves working 3-night shifts per week, including weekends and holidays. The role requires floating to various acute care pediatric units within the facility.
Required Skills & Experience: - Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures. - Ability to organize, plan, coordinate and evaluate nursing services. - Good verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to respond to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors. - Basic computer skills.
Educational Requirements: - Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program. - Preferred: Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing.
This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with experience in Pediatrics who possesses strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
