Description:

This position entails providing nursing care to a variety of pediatric patients with health problems that range from simple to complex. Key responsibilities include: - Managing an assigned group of patients. - Documenting patient responses and noting any changes in physician orders. - Assisting physicians during patient examinations and minor procedures. - Monitoring and obtaining physiological data and intervening where necessary. - Administering prescribed medications, regulating IV infusions, and monitoring blood products. - Delivering competent patient care and interacting with patients and their families to share care plans. - Informing patients and families of hospital procedures and directing patient care needs to the appropriate personnel. - Delegating tasks to support staff as required.

Additional responsibilities include floating across various pediatric units, including medical, surgical, medical specialty, and occasionally oncology units. Candidates should have good verbal and written communication skills, some computer competency, and the ability to maintain productive working relationships with colleagues. An Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program is required, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing being preferred.
