Kane Realty, a leader in the residential and commercial real estate industry, is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team. This accountant will play a key role in overseeing the corporate accounting operations with responsibilities across treasury, accounts payable, accounts receivable, corporate accounting, financial statement close processes, and compliance. The Senior Accountant will also supervise two staff members (AP Specialist & AR/Treasury Specialist), ensuring accurate financial reporting and operational efficiency within the department. Key Responsibilities:

Document policies, procedures, and controls related to assigned areas of Treasury, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable and identify areas for improvement and controls enhancement where necessary Assist Controller with identifying areas for improvement regarding technology and automation, specifically within the Corporate and Shared Services division Directly manage two corporate accounting team members, overseeing the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Treasury functions Ensure staff adherence to company policies, procedures, and internal controls

Core Areas:

Corporate Accounting and Financial Statement Close Process:

Prepare consolidated financials for the corporate business units, collaborating with the Controller and Managing Director of Finance on presentation and materials.

Prepare variance analyses on individual and consolidated financials and present to Controller, Managing Director of Finance, and CFO to help provide financial insights and recommendations to Leadership.

Manage FSCP process for accounting team, ensuring timely completion of GL close and bank reconciliations ensuring controls in place and operating effectively.

Assist Controller with documenting processes and policies for corporate functions, including at the individual business unit level and consolidated financials. Will involve collaboration with business unit leaders across the organization.

Assist with budgeting and financial reporting software implementations to enhance monthly close efficiency.

Determine areas of improvement to gain efficiencies and lower risks; help identify areas for automation for full suite of shared services (FSCP, AP, AR, Treasury).

Support the Controller with the annual tax return process for corporate entities.

Assist Controller with rolling out managerial financial reporting and analytics for Ownership presentations.

Treasury:

Oversee day-to-day treasury operations, including bank transactions (wires, ACH, stop payments, etc.), new bank account setups, and actively manage financial institution relationships.

Review monthly bank account analysis and quarterly bank health ratios to report to Controller, Director of Capital

Markets, and CFO to help understand treasury risks and opportunities.

Enforce current fraud prevention controls.

Stay abreast on current treasury risks, regulations, and current events to enhance suite of fraud prevention controls and areas for improvement in the treasury process.

Accounts Payable:

Manage cash position reporting and select invoices for payment for weekly check run.

Ensure timely and accurate processing of payables by the AP Specialist.

Review and approve new vendor setups and all corporate invoices.

Oversee annual 1099 process and ensure timely completion in line with regulations.

Manage rollout of P2P software enhancements for more efficient and safer vendor payments with the assistance of the AP Specialist.

Accounts Receivable:

Oversee the AR Specialist's collections monitoring and review aging reports to assist with addressing overdue accounts and/or discrepancies.

Ensure appropriate controls and segregation of duties are in place regarding AR and Treasury.

Ensure billing consistency across all corporate entities and utilize technology for effective receivable tracking and management. Identify the need for enhancements where necessary.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting

3-5 years of accounting experience (public accounting & CPA candidate a plus)

Previous staff management experience

Proficiency in accounting software, experience with Yardi a plus

Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles

Strong leadership and team-building skills and the ability to work effectively across teams
