About the Role

As a reinsurance claims professional at Swiss Re, you'll manage a dynamic portfolio of property and casualty reinsurance claims across various business lines. This role offers the unique opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams and develop broad knowledge about the insurance and reinsurance industry.

Key activities of the role include:

  • Steer a diverse portfolio of multi-line reinsurance claims, ensuring strategic objectives performance of loss against expectations through data analysis and industry insights.
  • Effectively manage the disposition of claims in your portfolio. Analyze contractual obligations to ensure the establishment of appropriate case reserves and approve payments within authority.
  • Provide cross-functional support with portfolio insights and analysis to help steer the business and develop strategy.
  • Formulate, develop, and implement account management, including building and supporting the client relationships.
  • Participate on client visits to review claims and develop an understanding about our client's claim handling practices; ensuring claims are handled according to industry standards and contractual terms.
  • Provide outstanding service, including sharing industry and/or specific topic knowledge.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders by providing research on claim topics and industry trends, claims data, loss development, contract wording issues and any other requested information

About You

You excel in a dynamic environment, adept at juggling multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism. With strong interpersonal skills, you're comfortable communicating with high-level clients, legal officers, and senior management. You're curious, solution-oriented, and always eager to try new things!

Additional requirements include:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 3-5 years' claims, underwriting, insurance, reinsurance, and/or insurance related legal experience.
  • General knowledge of and/or exposure to other insurance disciplines i.e., contract wording, accounting, and underwriting.
  • Confirmed ability to meet deliverables, implement plans, and conduct analysis
  • Excellent writing skills and proficient in Excel.
  • Data analytics skills with openness for continued growth
  • Ability and willingness to learn new claims handling systems
  • Some business travel required (approximately 20%)


Note: Our office work model is hybrid with flexibility to work from home while also going into the office at least 50% of the week.
