This position provides oversight for the college's health sciences programs and oversees the PN program. The position reports to the Dean of Transfer and Health Sciences. The position assumes primary responsibility for the development, implementation, and growth of curricula/programs within the division, including presenting, networking, and partnering in the service area and regionally. Responsibilities include: Providing administrative and academic leadership and supervision within the division. Ensuring the continuity of the division's instructional mission. Coordinating the scheduling process and submitting the schedule. Coordinating division-related program assessment and improvement processes. Ensuring proper documentation of results and participating fully in the institutional effectiveness process. Managing the health sciences budget and prioritizing equipment needs. Evaluating full- and part-time faculty and supporting their professional development and growth. Orienting new full- and part-time faculty. Maintaining current licensure as required by NCBON. Participating in college service, including committee work. Teaching classes and/or leading special projects as recommended by the VP of Instruction and Student Services. Minimum Requirements: Active, unencumbered license or multi-state licensure privilege to practice as a registered nurse in NC. Two years of full-time experience as a faculty member in a Board-approved nursing program. Experiential qualifications, having clinical nursing experience and experience as a faculty member in a nursing program. A graduate degree in nursing from an accredited institution. Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate in health science field, curriculum and instruction, or related field. Experience as a PN program director.
