Job Description - Postdoctoral Associate (2402331)
Position Title:
Postdoctoral Associate Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume): Doctoral degree (or foreign equivalent) in Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Neuroscience, or a closely related field. Preferred Qualifications: Research experience in biomedical implants, animal models, and aging/Alzheimer’s disease. Research experience in biomaterials, neuroscience, or regenerative medicine. First authored publications in reputable journals. Independence in conducting cutting-edge research projects. Brief Description of Duties: Stony Brook University has two postdoctoral positions in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. The incumbent will develop, design, and run research experiments in the field of biomaterials for tissue regenerative applications or neuroscience related to aging and ensure that all research protocols follow the policies and procedures of Stony Brook University. The Research Associate will be responsible for the operations of the lab. Conduct research experiments utilizing specialized techniques, applying theories, concepts, and principles in the field of regenerative medicine. Prepare manuscripts for publications in peer-reviewed and/or scientific journals. Prepare grant proposals; apply for grants to include writing proposals for the research project, identifying funding sources, and training opportunities. Responsible for the overall management of the lab, may supervise students and research support position(s). Will provide training on specific specialized skills and research methods, and is responsible for the operation of the lab. Other duties as assigned. Special Notes: The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines, and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
