Description
- Cost Estimation: Analyze project plans, drawings, and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Bid Preparation: Develop comprehensive bid proposals, including cost breakdowns, timelines, and scope of work, to submit to potential clients or stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather information, ensure accurate costing, and address any project-specific requirements.
- Risk Analysis: Identify potential risks and uncertainties in the project scope or budget, providing recommendations for mitigation strategies.
- Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, material costs, and labor rates to ensure estimates are competitive and reflect current market conditions.
- Cost Control: Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase, comparing estimates to actual expenses, and making adjustments as needed to maintain profitability.

Profile
- Extensive Experience: 7-10 years in commercial construction estimating with a proven track record in complex, large-scale projects.
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in estimating software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam), cost databases, and ability to read blueprints and construction drawings.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to mentor and manage a team of junior estimators while overseeing the accuracy and quality of their work.
- Strong Communication: Effective in client-facing situations, with clear communication skills for internal teams, stakeholders, and upper management.
- Analytical Skills: Detail-oriented with strong risk assessment, problem-solving abilities, and experience in value engineering to reduce costs.
- Project Management Understanding: Knowledge of scheduling, budget tracking, cost control, and coordination with project managers to ensure estimates align with timelines and budgets.
- Education and Certifications: A degree in construction management or a related field, with certifications like AEP or CPE being a plus.
