Job Summary

The division of Academic and Student Affairs is currently seeking a Student Marketing Assistant to join their team of professionals.

The Student Marketing Assistant will assist the Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications with marketing and communications. Duties to include: Develops marketing materials to include graphics, videos, brochures/flyers and other digital content. Assists in website maintenance under DASA through Cascade and uConnect platform Assists in developing and implementing specific marketing and promotional programs, which will advance the division's mission and goals. Assists in creating social media posts, images, and content for social media and website. Assists in the creation and implementation of social media/marketing calendars relevant to student engagement activities and college events. Increases student awareness of the DASA departments, through established campaigns and by proposing marketing ideas and campaigns. Measures success of social media posts by providing data and analytics. Assists with departmental events and programming under the division. Other related duties as assigned by manager.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires prior completion of FIU Service Excellence training or completion within first 30 days. Ability to work in a team setting. Intermediate level of Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of PC operations and specialized software. Ability to take direction and work independently as needed. Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with highly sensitive information.

Desired Qualifications

Experience with website maintenance and social media platforms. Graphic Design experience with Canva, Photoshop and/or Illustrator. Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and in collaboration with the team. Demonstrates professional communication and demeanor when working with team members, students and FIU leadership. Comfortable working in a shared space environment. Be flexible and willing to take on other tasks.

Applicants must be currently enrolled as a student at FIU with a minimum of six (6) credits as an Undergraduate student or three (3) credits as a Graduate student during the Fall and Spring semesters. During the Summer semesters, Students need only remain enrolled and are not required to take credit hours, but cannot have graduated. Upon decreasing credit hours or graduating, student employment must end.
