State Department Federal Credit Union is seeking a Vice President of Mortgage and Lending to provide strategic leadership and oversight of the credit union's entire lending ecosystem, including consumer lending, loan servicing, mortgage lending, and collections departments. This role drives operational excellence, ensures regulatory compliance, and develops comprehensive strategies to support the credit union's growth and member service objectives. Required Skills and Competencies: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field; A Master's degree and/or relevant professional certification (e.g., FRM, CRM, CISSP, CISM, or similar) is highly preferred. Minimum 12-15 years of progressive mortgage and lending management experience. Proven track record of growing lending portfolios across different economic cycles. Extensive experience in mortgage lending, consumer lending, and collections. Advanced proficiency in financial software, modeling tools, and MS Office Suite. Familiarity with web-based underwriting engines. Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making capabilities. Comprehensive understanding of mortgage lending regulations. Knowledge of FHA, VA, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac guidelines. Familiarity with credit reporting laws and regulations. Understanding of bankruptcy and foreclosure procedures. Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, fostering collaboration and driving team success. Adaptable to changing circumstances while consistently upholding ethical principles, safeguarding confidential information, and effectively troubleshooting emerging issues. Excels in developing innovative solutions, managing vendor relationships, and negotiating contracts to support dynamic, fast-paced environments.
