Salary:
$310,000.00 - $435,000.00 per year Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Advise on patent portfolio management, ensuring comprehensive development, prosecution, and enforcement across global markets. Lead strategic IP lifecycle management for second-generation drugs and biologics, aligning with complex international patent strategies. Perform detailed due diligence, strategic counsel on transactions, defense strategies, infringement analyses, and avoidance planning. Represent high-profile life sciences clients in patent disputes at the USPTO, including engagement in post-grant proceedings. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patent protection strategies that align with both emerging and established client goals in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors. Design and implement robust IP strategies to protect and maximize the value of client assets, with a focus on competitive market positioning and legal safeguards. Minimum Position Qualifications: JD from an esteemed law school, demonstrating high academic achievement. Active Bar admission in Washington, D.C. At least 4 years of substantial patent counseling and prosecution experience within the life sciences sector. Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related scientific field. Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Preferred Qualifications: Prior role exposure within the pharmaceutical industry is highly desirable. Proven track record of working with biotechnology firms and investors, handling complex patent portfolio management and IP litigation. Skills: Exceptional analytical skills and expertise in IP law specific to biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively manage client relationships and lead project teams. Detailed-oriented with a profound understanding of patent drafting, prosecution, and litigation processes.
