*Responsible for the administrative duties for the Office of the University Librarian by acting expediently, promptly, and collaboratively within a framework of established policies, procedures, and work expectations. *Serves as the office manager for the Office of the University Librarian to ensure a professional, effective, and efficient work environment. Develops and maintains effective systems for communicating, scheduling, filing, and electronic documents tracking. *Manages the University Librarian's appointments, including complex scheduling and travel arrangements. Prepares internal and external correspondence including drafting, formatting, and editing letters, memos, and reports. Assists the University Librarian in coordinating events by following university procedures and policies and completing all necessary forms and documents. Develops and generates meeting agendas, meeting materials, and meeting summaries as assigned. Prepares and processes fiscal documents such as requisitions, purchase orders, check requests, and travel. Prepares travel documents for library faculty and staff. Serves as the Parking Coordinator for the library, processes parking requests in coordination with library departments and distributes parking allocations. Recruits, hires, trains, and supervises student assistants in the Office of the University Librarian. Ensures a professional face for the Office of the University Librarian operations, efficiency, effectiveness, and success, while exercising discretion and judgment in performing a wide variety of duties. Serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external constituencies and manages daily operations of the Office of the University Librarian. Maintains library listservs and updates to UH Directory. Coordinates library updates to the university catalog. Arranges for materials, including refreshments, for University Librarian and Library Administration-hosted meetings. Fosters effective working relationships with the Manoa campus community. Serves as back-up for other support personnel as needed. Other duties as assigned. (* denotes essential functions) Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a baccalaureate degree in business, liberal arts, communications, or related field and 1 (one) year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for office management in business, libraries, museums, or educational settings; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills, and abilities as indicated. Functional knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques in the area of business management demonstrated by knowledge, understanding, and ability to apply concepts and terminology. Functional knowledge and understanding of principles, theories, federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and systems associated with business management. Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes, and resolve the full range of problems that may commonly occur in the area of administration. Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of situations. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members, and individuals. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer, apply word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Google applications. Desirable Qualifications

Demonstrated knowledge and experience working at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Familiarity and experience with Hamilton Library. To Apply:
