Job Description
This position is being recruited in both Anchorage and Juneau; final location is based on the location of the selected candidate.
What You Will Be Doing The Department of Law is looking for a Microcomputer/Network Specialist 2 to supervise and manage the Law's Help Desk team. This position is the highest-level IT Support personnel within the Department and will oversee four positions (three in Anchorage and one in Juneau) which together will make up the Law Help Desk team.
The day-to-day work will consist of managing the workload and staff of the Help Desk, identifying areas in which processes may be improved, and work to ensure that Help Desk tickets are addressed and handled properly in the AlaskaNow ticketing system.
Further, this position will be required to support the Law Active Directory, servers, and both Enterprise and local systems that are critical to the Departments mission, such as Prolaw, Prosecutor by Karpel, and NICE Justice.
As the Training and Technical Lead for Department of Law team, you'll be at the forefront of overseeing technical equipment, applications, and staff training. Your expertise will be crucial in providing operator support across various functional areas, including output coordination, workload supervision, and general oversight of the IT Help Desk
Mission and Culture The Administrative Services Division provides core administrative services essential to the day-to-day operation of the Department of Law.
Centralized administrative services include: •management and financial forecasting, •fiscal and accounting, •timekeeping and billing, •procurement, •human resources, •information technology services, and •software support.
These services enable the Department to achieve its mission to prosecute crime and provide legal services to state government for the protection and benefit of Alaska's citizens .

This position is the supervisor of the Department of Law's helpdesk section, which is made up of two senior and two junior positions between Anchorage and Juneau.
