Job Summary

This position is scheduled to begin August 2025. This Bachelor of Applied Science in Data Analytics and Programming (BAS: DA&P) Residential Faculty position is within our Computer Information Systems (CIS) Department. This Residential faculty position will be instrumental in the continued planning, development, and instruction of courses in MCC's Bachelor of Applied Science in Data Analytics and Programming program.

The position encompasses instructing a diverse (age, gender, ethnicity, technical experience, etc.) range of students in Computers Information Systems (CIS). Teaching modality may include face-to-face, hybrid, live online, and/or online format.

Duties also include student advising, assisting adjuncts, and participation in departmental meetings, functions, and participation in at least one college committee. All applicants must demonstrate a commitment to service excellence, innovation, student success, integrity, and diversity in the performance of job duties.

Essential Functions

* Instructs a diverse population of students in classroom and lab settings * Develops written syllabi/course outlines and course materials; assesses student knowledge of subject matter and prepares and grades exams; maintains academic support hours to assist and advise students * Engages in the academic life of the college by participating in district-wide and campus committees and activities * Develops and enhances knowledge of subject matter taught and individual training skills required to remain current with new trends and developments in the field and to promote the scholarship of teaching and learning through attendance at conferences, courses, seminars, and/or workshops * Classroom and/or laboratory instructions using face-to-face, hybrid and/or online classes at the college level * Curriculum development and updating CIS courses; textbook and teaching materials selection including Open Educational Resources (OER) materials * Mentors students through advisement, lab support, tutoring, and holding regular academic support hours * Assists adjunct instructors, participate in departmental meetings and functions

Minimum Qualifications

The Occupational Teaching Fields require the following from an accredited college or university: A Master's degree in the teaching field OR

A Master's degree in any field with 18 graduate credits in the teaching field OR

A Master's degree in any field with a combination of 24 upper division and/or graduate credits in the teaching field (Upper-division courses are Junior and Senior level courses in obtaining a Bachelor's degree) OR

A Bachelor's degree and three years of occupational experience in the field to be taught OR

Five years of occupational experience in the field to be taught OR

A Journeyman certification in the field to be taught

Desired Qualifications

A. Demonstrated experience using and teaching Data Analytics subjects, i.e., descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics B. Demonstrated experience using and teaching programming languages, i.e., Python, C# or R C. Demonstrated teaching experience & comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB, and other database management software; skills to include database relationships and database concepts D. Demonstrated industry experience in data analytics and programming. E. Demonstrated course content development experience to include open educational resources (OER) and curriculum development F. Demonstrated experience teaching in multiple modalities. G. Master degree or higher in the field of data analytics and programming.

Special Working Conditions

May be required to teach evenings or Saturdays May be required to sit or stand for a prolonged period of time, and viewing a computer monitor
