Omni Fiber is looking for a dedicated Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will provide technical support to ensure the smooth operation of desktop systems, software, and peripheral equipment. This role requires excellent troubleshooting skills, a strong customer service mindset, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. This is full-time, onsite opportunity at our Mason, OH office.

Primary Responsibilities:

Issue Resolution:

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical problems related to software applications, operating systems, hardware components, and network connectivity. Setup and Configuration:

Install, configure, and maintain desktop operating systems, applications, and hardware, ensuring systems are up-to-date and running efficiently. Asset Setup and Configuration : Prepare and configure IT equipment for use, including computers, peripherals, and other devices. User Assistance:

Guide users through problem-solving processes and provide training on software and hardware usage when necessary. Inventory Management : Maintain accurate records of all IT assets, including tracking their location, status, and usage. Documentation:

Maintain detailed records of support requests, solutions, and updates in the help desk ticketing system. Preventative Maintenance:

Perform routine checks and maintenance on desktop systems to prevent future issues and ensure optimal performance. Asset Management:

Assist in tracking and managing IT assets, including hardware and software inventories. Asset Disposal : Manage the disposal process for outdated or defective equipment, ensuring compliance with company policies and environmental regulations. Security and Compliance:

Ensure that all systems comply with company policies and industry standards, particularly regarding data security and software licensing. Customer Service:

Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to user inquiries and maintaining a professional demeanor. Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred. 1-3 years of experience in a desktop support or similar role. Proficiency with Windows and Mac operating systems. Understanding of network protocols and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP). Experience with remote support tools and technologies. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and other common software applications. Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, and/or Microsoft Certified:Modern Desktop Administrator Associate are advantageous. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. High level of patience and professionalism in dealing with end-users. Must be able to commute to our office. Must be able to lift and transport moderately heavy equipment such as computers and peripherals. Flexibility to work outside regular business hours as needed for IT maintenance or urgent support issues.
