We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Specialist with experience migrating Avaya phone systems to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical troubleshooting abilities, excellent communication skills, and prior experience managing and executing Avaya phone system migrations. This role requires hands-on experience with both desktop support and telecommunication systems, ensuring seamless transitions for users and maintaining efficient operations. The candidate must possess solid Microsoft Windows (Windows 10 and 7) skills (A+, Network +, and Microsoft certifications would be a plus); accompanied by a strong knowledge of client server; Active Directory (AD), and Microsoft Office products.
Plan and execute the migration of Avaya phone systems, including analysis of current configurations, scheduling, and implementation.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure minimal downtime and disruption during the migration process.
Configure and deploy Avaya handsets, softphones, and VoIP solutions as needed.
Train users on new telephony features post-migration.
Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for end-users, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
Install, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop computers, peripherals, and software applications.
Assist with user onboarding and training related to technology systems.
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in desktop support, IT helpdesk, or similar roles.
Proven experience in Avaya phone system migrations and configuration (Avaya Aura, IP Office, or similar).
Proficient in Windows and Mac OS environments, as well as Microsoft Office 365.
Strong knowledge of network protocols, VoIP, and telecommunications infrastructure.
Familiarity with remote support tools, Active Directory, and IT ticketing systems.
Experience with Avaya tools and software (e.g., Avaya Communication Manager).
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of working with diverse teams and end-users.
