A law firm is seeking an IP Litigation Associate Attorney to join their Charlotte, NC office. The ideal candidate will have excellent academic credentials, strong interpersonal skills, and substantial experience in intellectual property litigation. A technical background is strongly preferred, with an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science being highly desirable. The role requires 3-5 years of relevant experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Represent clients in intellectual property litigation, including patent, trademark, and copyright disputes.
Conduct detailed legal research and analysis on IP-related issues and case law.
Draft, review, and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.
Prepare and present oral arguments in court and during hearings.
Develop and implement litigation strategies tailored to clients' needs.
Manage all phases of discovery, including overseeing document review and production.
Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing legal guidance and case updates.
Collaborate with colleagues, experts, and other legal professionals on complex IP cases.
Engage in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes.
Stay abreast of developments in intellectual property law and litigation practices.
Requirements:
3-5 years of experience in intellectual property litigation.
Excellent academic credentials with a strong law school performance record.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Technical background is strongly preferred; an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is highly desirable.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex IP litigation cases.
Experience with patent, trademark, and copyright law.
Capability to handle multiple cases and meet tight deadlines.
Education and Certifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Admitted to the Bar and in good standing in North Carolina.
Skills:
Expertise in intellectual property litigation and related legal practices.
Strong analytical and legal research capabilities.
Excellent drafting, writing, and oral communication skills.
Technical proficiency, particularly in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, is preferred.
High attention to detail and exceptional problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Proficiency in case management and legal research tools.
