We are a prominent law firm in San Diego, seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Litigation Paralegal/Secretary to join our Labor and Employment Group. This full-time, on-site role offers an opportunity to support a robust litigation practice defending employers in complex single- and multi-plaintiff lawsuits.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with attorneys and team members to manage cases from inception through settlement or trial.
  • Draft, review, and revise legal documents, including court pleadings, subpoenas, and witness summaries.
  • Format and proofread court filings, ensuring compliance with federal and state rules, and manage in-person/electronic filings.
  • Maintain organized case files, charts, indices, and manage document production.
  • Assist with deposition and hearing preparation, including identifying exhibits and creating witness outlines.
  • Perform legal research and cite-check briefs for factual and legal accuracy.
  • Coordinate litigation support services and manage eDiscovery platforms, including iPro.
  • Track and meet deadlines using calendaring tools such as CompuLaw.
  • Provide trial support, including Bates stamping exhibits, hyperlinking PDFs, and preparing spreadsheets.
  • Record billable time accurately and work extended hours or travel as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Eligibility to work as a paralegal under Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code section 6450.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a California civil litigation paralegal.
  • Strong knowledge of legal procedures, court rules, and litigation processes, particularly in labor and employment law.
  • Proficiency in Office 365 (Word, Excel), iManage, CompuLaw, and legal research databases (Westlaw/Lexis).
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities with acute attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and maintain confidentiality.
  • Trial experience is highly desirable.
