Summary You will serve as a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN in the PRODUCTION DIVISION of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC. Responsibilities You will oversee stock maintenance within prescribed levels using established procedures. You will facilitate the movement of routine items, expedite the movement of priority items, follow up on overdue material, and execute the full spectrum of supply management and warehousing functions. You will prepare material requisition for parts and materials required in support of work and operations. You will ensure proper documentation of material requests (i.e. work center, job order, Maximo number, accurate description of material and internal tracking or work order number). You will assemble parts into kits, making list of items delayed in process or in back order and their status. You will receive parts, materials, components, and assemblies and are responsible for receiving, storing and distributing material to various locations. You will prepare material for dispatching by using correct material handing methods and MHE to ensure items are routed and dispatched to destination without damage. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of SPECIALIZED experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Understanding of the frequencies of use of different items, production processes and methods to locate and expedite movements of critical parts; 2) Managing stock maintenance within prescribed levels using established procedures; 3) Facilitating the movement of routine items, expediting the movement of priority items, following up on overdue material and executing the full spectrum of warehousing functions in support of NAVFAC material requirements; 4) Understanding of stock status information, receiving and shipping reports and locator record files to identify misplaced items and determine the cause of material overages and shortages; 5) Operating vehicles up to 5 tons, forklifts, and steel banding equipment; 6) Understanding and interpret instructions, production control and supply documents, and process material orders; and 7) Checking routing documents for accuracy, identify errors, corrections, and preparing orders in support of expediting material. Physical Demands Incumbent may be subject to occasional travel of up to 25%. This may require walking, bending and climbing during visits to various Navy and commercial installations. During the course of this travel, industrial facilities may be visited or toured. Document processing may require prolonged use of close vision. This position includes both sedentary office work and exposure to a warehouse environment. As a condition of employment, the incumbent must maintain all valid licenses with applicable endorcements, qualifiactions and certifications to operate the type and class of motor vehicles and MHE being utilized.
