Assembly

An assembly technician is responsible for assembling various components and parts to create finished products or sub-assemblies. They work in manufacturing or production environments and follow detailed instructions and specifications to ensure accurate and efficient assembly processes. The assembly technician collaborates with supervisors, quality control personnel, and other team members to meet production targets and maintain product quality.

Responsibilities

Component Preparation:
  • Read and interpret assembly instructions, diagrams, blueprints, or work orders to determine the assembly process and sequence.
  • Gather and inspect the necessary components and parts for assembly, ensuring they meet the required specifications and quality standards.
  • Prepare components by cleaning, deburring, or applying necessary coatings or treatments.
Product Assembly:
  • Use hand tools, power tools, or assembly fixtures to perform the physical assembly of components and parts.
  • Follow established procedures to correctly position, align, and attach components using fasteners, adhesives, welding, or other appropriate methods.
  • Perform testing or basic quality checks during or after assembly to verify functionality or identify defects.
Quality Control:
  • Inspect assembled products or sub-assemblies for defects, such as misalignments, missing parts, or cosmetic flaws.
  • Follow established quality control processes to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Identify and report any non-conformities or issues to supervisors or quality control personnel.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and provide feedback on assembly processes and product designs.
Workplace Safety and Organization:
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Identify and report any potential safety hazards or risks.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and free from obstacles or clutter.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly instructions, diagrams, blueprints, or work orders.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work with precision to ensure accurate assembly.
  • Basic problem-solving skills to identify and resolve assembly issues or defects.
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety practices and the ability to follow safety guidelines.
Benefits/Compensation
  • Full Time
  • Pay Rate is $16.75 per hour
  • 1st Shift
  • Weekly pay while employed through Career Concepts
