Quality Control Technician

Job Summary
GGG is seeking a multitasking and detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to join our FSQA team. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring transportation temperatures and product quality and assist in the warehouse inspection and sampling program. Overall, the role will ensure the quality of incoming products and schedule samples for testing and conduct appropriate evaluations.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Perform quality inspections of incoming food products, as needed
- Inspect warehouse for compliance following regulatory and safety guidelines
- Monitor weekly temperatures logs
- Conduct warehouse monthly audit
- Coordinate with warehouse management to maintain warehouse "audit ready"
- Facilitate recalls and external 3rd party audits
- Work with FSQA team on sampling program - periodic, customer complaints, and new items
- Work with FSQA on warehouse compliance, as needed
- Collaborate with pest control to document issues and corrective actions, communicating with maintenance and warehouse management
- Back up for USDA Inspection role, as needed
- Participate in customer complaint investigation and response
- Degree in food science or related field
- 1+ years of related experience in the food industry
- Working knowledge and understanding of food microbiology and food manufacturing
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and autonomously
- Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team
- Self-motivated with critical attention to detail
- Proficiency in MS Office
