Job Summary
The Medical Assistant III is responsible for performing administrative and clinical duties in a rural clinic setting under the direct supervision of a supervisor or provider. Key responsibilities include answering phones, scheduling appointments, data entry, vital sign measurement, medication administration, and patient care. Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Duties: Answering phones, scheduling appointments, data entry, and other administrative tasks as needed. Clinical Duties: Measuring and recording vital signs, collecting demographics or medical information, preparing patients for examination, cleaning rooms and equipment, stocking supplies, and administering medications as ordered by the provider. Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required. Formal, In-Person MA Training Program Completion with Pharmacology Class, Anatomy/Physiology, Medication Administration, and Clinical Externship Experience Required. Experience:
No Experience Required. Previous Experience in Direct Contact Work Preferred. Previous Experience in Healthcare Setting, Particularly in Ambulatory Clinic Setting Preferred. Skills:
Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills. Able to Work Independently and Collaboratively in a Team. Carry Out Delegated Tasks Under Supervision of a Provider. Proficient Computer Skills. Licensure/Certification/Registration:
American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification or Obtained Within 90 Days of Hire Required. Certification or Registration from CoxHealth Approved Certification Program: CMA/AAMA, RMA/AMT, CCMA/NHA, NRCMA/NAHP, NCMA/NCCT, RMA/AAMP; or LPN Required. Additional Information:
$4,000 Sign-On Bonus. 40 Hours of Front-Loaded Paid Time Off. Career Ladder Bonus Eligible.
