Job Description
Robert Half Management Resources is currently looking for an experienced HR Generalist to support a contract role with a client in Columbus, Ohio. This role will support the HR Manager with a variety of HR related tasks to include: employee engagement, employee relations, recruiting (manufacturing employees), onboarding and leading new employee orientations, and serving as a backup for payroll and benefits admin. This role has the potential for hire following the contract period. It is a hybrid role, with several days a week onsite in Columbus, OH.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the onboarding process and carry out new employee orientations to ensure smooth integration into the team.
• Act as a strategic partner in employee engagement and relations, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
• Support the payroll and benefits administration, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Assist with the recruitment process, particularly for manufacturing roles, optimizing strategies to attract and retain quality candidates.
• Maintain compliance with FMLA and other relevant labor laws.
• Utilize communication skills to effectively resolve any employee concerns or inquiries.
• Coordinate benefits programs, ensuring employees understand and utilize their benefits effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with all levels of the organization• Strong knowledge of compliance regulations and standards in HR practices
• Familiarity with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and its applications in the workplace
• Experience in payroll administration and management
• Proven ability in handling employee relations issues with tact and discretion
• Ability to conduct new employee orientation programs, ensuring smooth onboarding
• Proficiency in benefits coordination, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits
• Experience in recruiting, screening, and interviewing potential candidates.
