Senior Electrical Engineer- Healthcare

Position Details

• Employment Type: Full-time
• Schedule: Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 remote)
• Salary Range: $120,000-$150,000
• Level: Senior

Role Overview
This position involves leading electrical design projects, collaborating across disciplines, and managing teams of engineers in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You'll focus on designing and coordinating electrical systems for healthcare and hospital facilities while supporting project management and construction phases.

Responsibilities

Pre-Design Engineering

• Conduct field surveys, gather data, and prepare site assessment reports.
• Develop schematic electrical designs to establish project frameworks.

Design Engineering

• Create power single-line and riser diagrams.
• Perform advanced electrical calculations, including arc flash, short circuit, voltage drop, and load flow using ETAP/SKM.
• Design and coordinate lighting, power circuits, and control systems.
• Prepare fire alarm layouts, riser diagrams, and related documentation in compliance with International Fire Code and NFPA 72.
• Collaborate with mechanical, plumbing, civil, structural, and architectural teams to ensure cohesive project execution.
• Develop medium and low voltage electrical systems aligned with California Electrical Code and Energy Standards.

Project Management

• Manage multiple large-scale projects, overseeing senior engineers and sub-consultants.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to design engineers.
• Prepare client proposals and foster relationships with new and existing clients.

Construction Administration

• Review and respond to RFIs and equipment submittals.
• Conduct punch walks and prepare detailed punch list reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical design and project management.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP/SKM, and Revit.
• Familiarity with HCAI requirements and healthcare/hospital projects.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable in fast-paced environments.
