Job Description Job Title: RN Clinical Nurse Emergency Department Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Inpatient Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evening/Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (3:00 p.m. - 3:00 a.m.) Experience: 2 years License: RN - Single State or Multi-state Compact Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Must-Have: - Ability to read, write, and speak English - Basic computer skills - Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills - Ability to function in a fast-paced environment - Excellent time management skills - Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
Description: The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed care givers. They ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized high-quality, safe patient care. They practice in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders. The framework for practice is steered by a Professional Practice Model and evidence-based practice and research. It is expected that all RN Clinical Nurses are licensed and knowledgeable. They must uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Professional Nurse Practice Act and implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association. As a member of the patient services team, it is expected that the individual upholds the voice of the patient, system policies, and procedures while supporting service excellence goals. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Exemplary Practice and Outcomes: - Performs the nursing process in clinical care using evidence-based practice, ensuring care is individualized. - Provides relationship-based patient-centered care that reflects cultural diversity. - Partners with patients and significant others using appropriate communication methods. - Practices using current clinical practice standards. Teamwork and Collaboration: - Coordinates the delivery and documentation of safe patient care. - Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration. - Participates in performance improvement initiatives. Professional Development and Initiative: - Completes all professional competency assessments and education. - Serves as a preceptor or mentor for other nurses. Evidence-Based Practice and Research: - Promotes evidence-based practice and nursing research. - Upholds health care system policies and professional association standards. - Participates in data collection for evidence-based practice. Resources and Support: - Plans proactively for patient care across the care continuum. - Participates in developing protocols and procedures. - Supports efficient use of resources. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
