Job Description Job Title: RN Clinical Periop Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: General Surgery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week Experience: Minimum 5 years in the OR License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required

Must-Have: - Strong proficiency in two of the following specialties: Neurology, Orthopedics, Vascular - Ability to start within 4 weeks - Previous travel experience is a plus

Description: The RN Clinical Periop Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of caregivers. They ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized, high-quality, safe patient care. They practice in a clinical environment supported through a shared governance model. The framework for practice is guided by professional practice models, evidence-based practice, and research. RN competencies are derived from these models and core competencies. RN Clinical Nurses are expected to be licensed and knowledgeable, upholding the practice of nursing as outlined by professional standards. The role involves upholding the voice of the patient and supporting service excellence goals. Perform the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation using evidence-based practice. Provide relationship-based patient-centered care that is consistent with specific population characteristics. Partner with patients and significant others using appropriate communication methods. Coordinate care through effective partnerships and teamwork. Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration by promoting a respectful, inclusive clinical environment. Support performance improvement and actively participate in shared governance. Complete all required professional competency assessments and education. Serve as a preceptor or mentor for other nurses and staff. Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement. Proactively plan for the care of patients across the care continuum. Participate in the development of protocols and procedures to achieve best practice outcomes. Support the efficient and effective use of resources. Perform other duties as assigned. Comply with all organizational policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
