IT Business Analyst- CBP(Remote)

We seek remote IT Business Analyst to join us in support of a U.S. Customer and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Information and Technology (OIT) program.

Job Summary:

The Government IT Business Analyst is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and defining business requirements to support IT solutions that meet the needs of Customs and Border Protection. The role involves acting as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure that project objectives are met. The candidate must have a deep understanding of both business and IT processes, along with knowledge of government regulations and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Engage with stakeholders (government personnel, project managers, contractors) to gather detailed business requirements. Analyze business processes and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement and technological solutions. Document and prioritize business and functional requirements to guide the development of IT systems. Work closely with technical teams (developers, architects, etc.) to ensure solutions align with business needs and meet government standards. Prepare detailed functional specifications, user stories, and technical documentation. Support the creation of mockups, prototypes, or system workflows to visualize solutions. Assist in the development of project plans and timelines. Ensure that deliverables are completed on time and within scope. Provide support during testing and implementation phases. Ensure all IT solutions comply with federal and state regulations, security standards, and best practices. Support the creation of reports and documentation for audits, compliance reviews, and risk assessments. Maintain ongoing communication with stakeholders to update on project progress, identify potential risks, and address any concerns. Provide training and support for end-users as needed. Support the implementation of changes to systems or processes, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption. Assist with data migration or system integration efforts as part of change initiatives. Identify potential risks and issues that may impact the delivery of IT solutions and propose mitigation strategies. Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience). US citizenship with the ability to obtain/maintain DHS clearance with Customs and Border Protection. 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in an IT or government context. Strong understanding of government IT regulations, standards (e.g., FISMA, NIST, HIPAA), and compliance requirements. Proficiency in business analysis methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid). Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Experience with system development life cycle (SDLC), project management tools, and documentation practices. Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment. Experience with government procurement processes, contracts, and systems. This position may require occasional travel to government sites or other locations for project implementation or client meetings. Business process modeling and analysis. IT system integration and requirements documentation. Risk and change management in the context of government IT projects. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with integrity.

Security Clearance

This position requires a DHS security clearance to access classified or sensitive information. Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria for this clearance and undergo a background investigation if selected.
