At the Humana Enterprise Architecture unit, our mission is to deliver a perfect member experience by aligning business strategy to technology strategy, enabling effective execution of the technology strategy, and facilitating the adoption and delivery of Humana Enterprise Architecture principles, standards, policies, and methodologies.
As a Senior Enterprise Architect, you play a pivotal role in aligning the business vision, technology strategy, and framing enterprise standards. You will be an integral part of delivering critical business outcomes, as well as creating technology strategies to leverage IT. Additionally, you will provide mentorship and guidance to other enterprise, solution, technology, and system architects across Humana.
Key Responsibilities:
Advocate for the business within IT and ensure technology execution aligns with business strategy.
Achieve value-driven outcomes by ensuring Humana’s Technology Strategy is executed in alignment with corporate vision and segment business strategies.
Engage in enterprise technology modernization initiatives working with application teams and key business and IT stakeholders.
Mentor pattern-based development with a strong focus on resource & cost optimization.
Drive adoption and delivery of lean enterprise architecture practices within an agile delivery framework.
Collaborate with business and technical teams to align and map the business vision and strategy to value streams, business capabilities, and business functions.
Document the current state architecture, value streams, and domain capability models.
Apply portfolio rationalization to identify opportunities for innovation and reduce risk, complexity, and total cost of operations.
Define and maintain technology strategies, including intermediate and end state architectures.
Lead application modernization initiatives to meet enterprise architecture standards.
Enable innovation and evolution of cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) in collaboration with segment teams.
Maintain standards & policies, revalidating them based on latest trends & best practices.
Create cost models/dashboards for applications based on resource utilization and licensing costs.
Evaluate new technologies/platforms for continuous improvement of assets.
Mentor application teams with enterprise data use standards and assist with non-functional needs.
Support application teams through enterprise governance processes.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Progressive experience as a senior application and/or solution architect or technical lead in large companies spanning multiple enterprise systems.
10 or more years of design, development, and testing of software applications.
Expertise in all SDLC activities including ideation, design, implementation, and operations.
Expert knowledge of enterprise architecture pattern development, cloud-native architectures, and agile delivery.
Proficient in evaluating multiple tools based on organizational needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate or Professional level solution architecture certification in Azure, GCP, and/or AWS.
3-5 years of experience in cloud technologies, cloud migration, or enterprise architecture.
Familiarity/certification in architectural frameworks like TOGAF.
Experience with various CI/CD quality drivers and implementation approaches.
Expertise in enterprise architecture repository tools like iServer.
2+ years of project leadership and consulting experience.
Additional Information:
To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service must meet the following criteria:
Minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps recommended.
Wireless, wired cable, or DSL connection is suggested; satellite, cellular, and microwave connections require approval.
Employees in California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will receive bi-weekly internet expense payments.
Humana will provide telephone equipment appropriate to meet business requirements.
Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI/HIPAA information.

Pay Range:
$117,600 - $161,700 per year. This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on performance.
