Job Title Admission Counselor - Institute of Art & Design

Position Purpose

This position is tasked with recruiting incoming undergraduate students with a focus on programs within the Institute of Art and Design at New England College. The Admission Counselor is responsible for achieving enrollment goals and for contributing to the overall success of the department. He/she provides personalized communication to prospective students, parents, high school art educators, school counselors and others.

Essential Duties Summary Collaborate with faculty in the Institute of Art and Design to visit high school art classes in targeted schools in New Hampshire and beyond; Contact high school art teachers to schedule class visits with IAD faculty who will deliver presentations, workshops and demos; Arrange visits to the NEC campus by high school art classes for art workshops and presentations; Communicate on a regular basis via telephone, email, social media, and written correspondence with prospective students and parents; Use the College's CRM tools to communicate with students and log daily interactions; Monitor application files to ensure their completion, review admission applications; Communicate with secondary school counselors, parents, teachers, alumni, athletic coaches, and other key influencers of prospective students; Participate in on-campus and off-campus programs hosted by the College to recruit students; Collect and analyze data as part of ongoing assessment of recruitment program success and new developments in the marketplace.

Required Qualifications

Education • Bachelor's degree required

Experience • Experience in undergraduate recruitment and admission or related positions.

Skills and Knowledge • Excellent written and oral communication skills • High-energy disposition, goal-oriented work style, strong customer service orientation • Ability to travel extensively • Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications • Experience and/or education in visual art is a plus
