The Window Buyer plays a crucial role in ensuring stores are equipped with the materials needed to maintain a competitive market advantage on behalf of our client. This position involves negotiating with suppliers, managing procurement processes, and assisting stores with bids, technical inquiries, and logistical concerns. The Window Buyer also monitors market conditions to inform purchasing strategies, ensuring the organization secures the best pricing and terms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Negotiate prices with suppliers to secure favorable terms.
- Resolve product-related issues and technical questions from stores.
- Trace shipments to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Conduct replacement cost and alternate species analysis for materials.
- Negotiate contracts, purchasing agreements, and other legal documents with vendors.
- Communicate market conditions and forecasts with stores to support short- and long-term bids.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with stores to ensure availability of materials.
Education:
- Relevant education or experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management is a plus.
- Proficiency in spreadsheet, internet, and inventory management software.
- Familiarity with order processing and project management tools.
- Strong ability to analyze and interpret business reports, technical procedures, and regulations.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information effectively to diverse audiences.
- Advanced problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret technical instructions and manage complex variables.
- Negotiation: Skilled at securing favorable terms and pricing.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and draw conclusions.
- Communication: Clear and effective in both verbal and written forms.
- Collaboration: Works well with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
- Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy in procurement and documentation processes.
- Work Environment: Office-based role with occasional travel to suppliers or stores.
