As the Chief Development Officer at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals), you’ll lead the planning, development, and execution of our philanthropic strategies. This includes creating a robust major gifts and annual and planned giving programs, cultivating individual donor relationships, as well as employee giving solutions for new and existing corporate partners. The CDO will provide executive leadership for the utilization of celebrities and influencers for donor engagement leveraging their platforms to expand awareness and support for our mission, as well as all provide executive oversight for donor systems and donor engagement strategies. Additionally, the CDO will partner strategically regarding branding and communications efforts to ensure cohesive and impactful messaging across all marketing channels and driving innovative campaigns that inspire donor engagement and public support. As a member of the Executive Team, you’ll collaborate across divisions to align initiatives with organizational goals, fostering growth in total fundraising, donor engagement, and public awareness. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration or a related field required. Certifications or Licenses: Certified Fundraising Professional (CFRE) accreditation or equivalent certification required. Experience: Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in fundraising, development or advancement, with a strong track record of identifying and developing successful donor relationships. Demonstrated progressive leadership experience, including successfully leading and managing directors and/or vice presidents. Proven track record of successfully designing and leading developmental campaigns/initiatives in a nonprofit healthcare or foundation setting. Demonstrated success in building relationships with high-value donors and securing significant planned giving commitments. Proven ability to think strategically and guide organizational priorities through exceptional strategic thinking and planning capabilities. Adept at analyzing complex challenges, anticipating future trends, and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence. Demonstrated success in creating actionable plans that align with long-term vision, drive innovation, and effectively allocate resources to maximize impact. Experienced in leveraging donor management software/planned giving tools to make data driven decisions. Exceptional relationship building and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences (donors, board members, staff, volunteers). Core Duties: Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies to diversify CMN Hospitals’ fundraising portfolio and philanthropic support, including major gifts, annual giving and planned giving programs, and employee giving initiatives, while ensuring financial stability through multi-year underwriting plans and strategic partnerships. Cultivate and manage relationships with high-net-worth donors, business leaders, and key stakeholders to secure major gifts, planned giving opportunities, and sponsorship agreements that advance the organization’s goals. Provide strategic leadership to donor systems fostering alignment with organizational priorities to drive fundraising growth and enhance donor engagement. Build and nurture relationships with celebrities and influencers to elevate CMN Hospitals’ visibility and develop innovative campaigns that inspire engagement and support for children’s healthcare initiatives. Design and manage turnkey employee giving campaigns to engage existing partners and attract prospective organizations, fostering a culture of philanthropy and collaboration. Represent CMN Hospitals as a strategic partner in C-Suite-level engagements, effectively articulating the value proposition of fundraising partnerships tailored to each prospective partner. Collaborate with the Board of Trustees and Foundation leaders across the CMN Hospitals network to leverage networks in expanding development efforts and opportunities. Provide executive oversight for the effective utilization of donor management systems to track business development activities, major gift prospects, commitments, and pipeline development, ensuring data-driven decision-making. Collaborate on CMN Hospitals’ marketing and communications strategies to strengthen the organization’s brand presence and mission and to ensure cohesive messaging across platforms to amplify donor and partner engagement. Serve as a member of the Executive Team, contributing to strategic planning, organizational decision-making, and long-term growth initiatives that advance CMN Hospitals’ mission and vision. Job Location: If located in Utah, our office is in Salt Lake City. This role is eligible to be a remote position but employment is only available to individuals living in the following states:
