Robertshaw is looking for an experienced product/category management professional to drive the rapid expansion of the already extensive Uni-Line product portfolio which is focused on serving the aftermarket and replacement parts channel. The business is anchored by industry leading products and brands including Robertshaw, Ranco and Paragon electro-mechanical and electronic products for Commercial Refrigeration, HVAC, Commercial Cooking and Residential Appliance applications.

The Product Manager for Portfolio Expansion will lead the development and execution of the Rapid Portfolio Expansion initiative, providing customers with the most relevant and value-added product offering in the industry. This person will help grow the business, achieving year over year improvement in both revenue and profit and directly contribute to the development of future strategies.Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Market Analysis: Assess the market, particularly distributors and competitors to identify gaps in the existing product portfolio.New Products: Develop and execute a new product roadmap and pipeline for Uni-Line, with particular emphasis on expansion into new categories. Provide strategic, financial and technical justification for product selection and definition. Work with key functions, including engineering, product management, sales, strategic sourcing and manufacturing to launch new products. Develop business cases to support and justify new product introductions. Work hand in hand with Marketing to develop the appropriate branding strategy and to create sales tools and marketing collateral.Pricing Strategy: Determine the pricing strategy, including the identification of primary competitors and relative positioning to those competitors in key market segments. Manage all list prices in accordance with product category strategies to be market competitive while driving top-line sales and maximizing profitability.Supply Chain and Sourcing: For every new product, determine the role of 3rd party sourcing versus manufacturing in a Robertshaw plant. Identify and build sustainable relationships with reliable 3rd party vendors. Work with appropriate Operations and Supply Chain partners to ensure all new product activity is executed in a manner that enhances the company’s inventory/logistics/service objectives.New Product Performance: Establish metrics and continually monitor financial performance (revenue, gross margin) to ensure there is constant feedback into the success of the new product strategy and execution.Qualifications

Knowledge of business fundamentals, engineering concepts, and the sales processExperience with developing supplier relationshipsExperience onboarding new products (discovery, selection, pricing, positioning, forecasting, marketing, training)Collaborative, supportive, team-based thinkingDetailed Project Management experience within complex projects, and ability to be extremely focused and organizedHigh level of capability and experience in delivering results in a rapidly changing and intense environmentAdvanced communications skills—formal and informal presentations (written and verbal)Process oriented and systems thinkingEDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or relatedMinimum of five years’ experience as Product ManagerBusiness strategies including customer requirements with supply chain, product information and marketing strategiesExperience with industrial products in the Appliance / HVAC industry preferred; distribution experience is a plusDemonstrated experience in driving results.Key Relationships
