We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-orientedOrthopedic Medical Scribe to support our orthopedic surgeons and enhancepatient care efficiency.The Orthopedic Medical Scribe will be an integral member of our orthopedicteam, working closely with our surgeons to document patient encounters,procedures, and consultations. The role is pivotal in ensuring accurate andcomprehensive medical records, facilitating efficient patient flow, andenabling our physicians to focus on delivering exceptional patient care.Key Responsibilities:Accompany orthopedic surgeons during patient consultations and visits to accurately document the encounter in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.Transcribe the details of physical examinations, diagnostic findings, treatment plans, and minor procedures.Assist in documenting patient histories, including injury mechanisms, symptoms, and previous treatments.Enter orders for laboratory tests, imaging studies, and medications under the direction of the attending physician.Compile and organize post-operative notes, operative reports, and discharge summaries.Facilitate communication between the orthopedic team, patients, and other healthcare professionals by ensuring timely and accurate documentation.***Competitive salary commensurate with experience.See the Position Description for additional information.Conditions of EmploymentMust successfully complete all required training within 6 months of hire.Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.Minimum QualificationsHigh school degree or GED; at least 6 months of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specifiedCompleted degree(s) from an accredited institution that is above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.Preferred QualificationsQualifications:Bachelor's degree in a health-related field preferred.Previous experience as a medical scribe or in a similar role is highly desirable, especially in orthopedics or a surgical specialty.Excellent typing and computer skills, with proficiency in EMR systems.Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, particularly in orthopedics.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, staff, and physicians.Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings and evenings Additional RequirementsCampusHealth Sciences Center (HSC) - Albuquerque, NMDepartmentOrthopaedics Administration (497B)Employment TypeStaffStaff TypeRegular - Part-TimeTerm End DateStatusNon-ExemptPayHourly: $17.56 to $22.89Benefits EligibleThis is a benefits eligible position.
