We are looking for a Supply Chain Data Scientist for the CO+I Data Science team which delivers Microsoft’s Long Range Infrastructure plan using state of the art econometric/ML models, risk simulations and business intelligence. It also excels in delivering Optimization Models to help Microsoft make important business decisions in an uncertain world. We are hiring an exceptional Supply Chain Data Scientist to apply their skills in the fields of 1) Forecasting 2) Operations Research 3) Econometrics 4) Statistics 5) Machine Learning to help us rewrite the playbook on supply chain science in the context of data center supply chains. These skills will help Microsoft make big bets, far out into the future within the context of deploying a new disruptive technology: LLM’s and ChatGPT.
Additionally, they will have to be able to leverage their software engineering skills to connect to various upstream and downstream systems ensuring the forecasting plan matches the execution.

Responsibilities
We are seeking a team member who can:Apply their expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to develop econometric/ ML modelsApply their skills in building deterministic / stochastic optimization models to aid decision making processesConnect to and build APIs for turning data science models into a full production systemUnderstand fundamental business dynamics impacting demand, and develop automated statistical solutions for forecastingAbility to develop E2E models in R/ Python – including data manipulation, model building and business applicationsEmbody our culture and valuesQualifications
Required Qualifications:
Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related fieldOR Master's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results) or consulting experienceOR Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 2+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)OR equivalent experience.2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonExperience in using statistical packages and standard libraries in R (dplyr, ggplot etc.), Python (NumPy, Pandas, etc.) or equivalent.Experience in SQL and NO-SQL databasesOther Requirements

There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
