The Director of Sales is responsible for leading the overall sales efforts for meetings, banquets, events, and group room nights through active solicitation of identified target markets within the established revenue management guidelines.

Essential Job Functions
Exceed budgeted room night and revenue sales goals by achieving established sales solicitation expectations, sales calls, and site visitsExceed budgeted catering and rental revenue goals by leading team in prospecting efforts and sales techniquesLead the sales team by creating and implementing strategies to generate business in the meetings, events, and banquet marketsIdentify primary markets such as Cincinnati, Louisville, Indianapolis, Columbus, Chicago, Cleveland, and Detroit and solicit regional, state and national companies and organizations for meetings, events and room nightsConduct hotel and complex presentations to meeting planners and planning committees for the purposes of developing a bookingAttend trade shows, evaluate, select and prepare strategic objectives for trade show participation and executionHires and onboards news sales team members, reviews expectations, creates & monitors goalsWorks to develop strong relationships with other key departmentsLeads by example and sets a positive tone and work environmentDevelop and maintain a well-informed, working knowledge of competing properties as well as attractions available in Lancaster CountyWork with local CVBs by responding weekly to requests for meeting and convention leads. Participate in appropriate activities coordinated by CVBRepresents hotel and complex at industry and networking events when appropriateAssist with recommending and maintaining a supply of promotional materials and trade show gifts used by the Sales DepartmentAssist with annual budget preparation as well as monthly forecastingManage hotel Group Rooms Control Log – group limits, room pick up, and rate adherenceResponsible for contract execution with group bookings within established guidelinesOversees group room pick-up and manages group blocks in order to maximize occupancy and revenueStays informed of industry trends and happenings through research, networking, and attending industry eventsAll other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
Associates degree or equivalent preferred or equivalent combination of education and experienceMust have at least five or more years related hotel sales experience18 years of age or olderDependable transportation to and from workMust have a valid Driver’s LicenseLanguage skills: Fluent knowledge of the English language; including the ability to read and interpret written information and speak and understand verbal communicationAbility to fulfill the physical requirements of the position with any reasonable accommodations as necessaryAvailability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as neededAuthorized to work in the United States

Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Business, Marketing, Hospitality or a related fieldMust have high level of interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public to serve as liaison to high profile members of the community and the tourism industryHighly dependable with a history of consistent attendance and punctualityGuest-focused/service-oriented; ability to see big picture and impact on Company. Working Conditions
Work environment: Semi-quiet office environment within an upbeat, high-energy sports and event complex with heavy foot traffic and frequent large crowds.Physical requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the team member will be regularly required to perform physical activity that includes moving about the work area, sitting and standing. The team member will be frequently required to bend, reach with hands and arms, lift, push, pull, talk, hear, smell, stoop, kneel, or crouch. He or she is required to have the visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.Lifting requirements: The team member will occasionally be required to lift, push, pull, lower and/or move up to 30 lbs occasionally.Noise Level: The noise level in this environment is typically variable.Work schedule: The work schedule may fluctuate to including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
