The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining and ensuring the integrity of the financial accounting and reporting data for Risk Services' clients. In addition, the Staff Accountant is responsible for guided correspondence and coordination with clients, other service providers, and state regulators. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

The Staff Accountant assists clients and senior management on a range of general accounting functions in the management of a portfolio of captive insurance companies and/or risk retention groups. Specific responsibilities include timely financial statement preparation, maintenance of corporate records, regulatory reporting as well as overall account management.

Additional duties include:

• Compilation of corporate financial data necessary for the timely processing of quarterly and year-end closing of the applicable general ledgers including the preparation, reconciliation, and input of monthly standard and special journal entries in conjunction with the maintenance of supporting documentation.

• Prepares and records necessary journal entries into the appropriate accounting system.

• Assists in the analysis and preparation of financial data.

• Assists with ad-hoc projects as requested by management.

• Performs routine/basic accounting responsibilities.

• Flexibility to work on special projects and meet the demands of clients, including possible travel for attendance at board meetings.

• Works closely with Accounting Manager and clients under immediate supervision.

• Reconciles various bank accounts.

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE)

• Bachelors' degree required in accounting or equivalent experience.

• PC literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

• Ability to meet tight deadlines.

• Mastery of the English language, both written and verbal, and ability to communicate effectively with others, including the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback to team members.

• Ability to analyze data and present recommendations based on outcomes of analysis.

• Ability to prepare and effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to management, customers, clients, and employees.

MINIMUM JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors' degree required in accounting or equivalent experience.
