A health services network in New York City is actively seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join their growing Psychiatric team at one of their FQHCs in the Bronx and Queens.
Responsibilities:
The Psych Nurse Practitioner (NP) will: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments to evaluate patients' mental health and psychiatric conditions Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications to treat mental health disorders Provide individual and group psychotherapy Educate patients and their families about psychiatric disorders, treatment options, medication side effects, and strategies for managing symptoms and improving overall mental health Develop personalized treatment plans in collaboration with patients, setting specific goals and interventions to address their mental health needs Assess and manage psychiatric crises, including suicide risk assessments and interventions for patients in acute distress Monitor patients' progress through regular follow-up appointments, adjust treatment plans as needed, and provide ongoing support Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records Provide education and training to nursing staff, medical students, and other healthcare professionals on mental health topics Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree NYS Nurse Practitioner (NP) license Experience in a Psych role / setting Desired Skills:
Master's Degree Women's Health background
