A health services network in New York is actively seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join their growing Psychiatric team at one of their LI sites!
Responsibilities:
The Psych Nurse Practitioner (NP) will:Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments to evaluate patients' mental health and psychiatric conditionsPrescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications to treat mental health disordersProvide individual and group psychotherapyEducate patients and their families about psychiatric disorders, treatment options, medication side effects, and strategies for managing symptoms and improving overall mental healthDevelop personalized treatment plans in collaboration with patients, setting specific goals and interventions to address their mental health needsAssess and manage psychiatric crises, including suicide risk assessments and interventions for patients in acute distressMonitor patients' progress through regular follow-up appointments, adjust treatment plans as needed, and provide ongoing supportMaintain accurate and up-to-date patient recordsProvide education and training to nursing staff, medical students, and other healthcare professionals on mental health topicsQualifications:
Bachelor's DegreeNYS Nurse Practitioner (NP) licenseExperience in a Psych role / settingDesired Skills:
Master's DegreeWomen's Health background
