This position reports to the Area 9/8 Management Team in the Southern Region Parks Division with a work schedule, varied, hours dependent upon park closing time, Sunday through Wednesday, and some holidays. Examples of Important Duties

Program Facility Manager Aide II

Performs athletic field related tasks such as athletic field inspection for safety, mowing, edging, debris blowing, trail repairs, field lining, infield dragging.

Executes athletic field work at a basic level, involving operation of some equipment and assignments requiring training.

Operates a variety of equipment such as trucks, tractors with attachments, zero-turn mowers, utility vehicles with blowers, and walk behind maintenance equipment.

May perform general grounds maintenance to include mowing, litter cleanup, fencing repair, weeding surfaces, pruning, and snow removal. Will be required to drive Commission vehicles.

Ability to understand and carry out verbal and/or written instructions effectively and efficiently.

Communicate with supervisor and other staff members any concerns and/or needs of the project or athletic field and equipment.

This position regularly performs work alone on projects.

Secures facilities at the end of day by locking gates and doors.

Performs other related duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

One year of customer service experience working in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to effectively communicate with Park Patrons for established Park Rules and Policies.

Ability to operate a motor vehicle with a valid driver's license.Minimum Qualifications:

No experience or training is necessary except for specialized skills (for example typing) or licenses/certificates (for example, Red Cross Life Saving Certificate) that are directly related to the job.

Supplemental Information

Work hours are varied depending on park closing times and season, Sunday through Wednesday but the hours and days are subject to change based on work program needs. May work most holidays.

The position compensation range is $16:00 - $18.70 per hour. These positions are seasonal and do not include a benefits package. Salaries are based on experience. A complete background investigation will be conducted to hire.

The following information is a summary of benefits extended to all Seasonal employees of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC). This is for informational purposes only and is subject to change.

Limited Benefits for Seasonal Employees

Health Insurance PlansYou are eligible for specific health insurance benefits if you worked, on average, 30 hours per week during your first 12 months of employment or from October 3rd to October 2nd each subsequent period following your first 12 months of employment. This equates to 1,560 hours over a 12-month period.

If and when you are eligible for benefits, you will receive notification directly from the Health & Benefits Office.

Eligible Employees Pay 35% of the health insurance plan premium and The Commission Pays 65%.
