We are seeking a hands-on Vice President of Finance and Accounting to run day-to-day company financial operations and plan the financial strategy.
The candidate must be well-versed in all finance management aspects, from accounting to financial planning and investor relations from the healthcare provider side. The ideal candidate must be capable of managing all related activities as the leader of the Finance and Accounting team. The ideal candidate will thrive on being hands-on and overseeing all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. This function reports to the Chief Operation Officer.
Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of the company's financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
Drive the company’s financial planning process
Prepare reliable cadence reporting for actuals, budget, and forecasting
Organize and manage Finance Audit processes
Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's growth and long-term business objectives
Lead the preparation of financial statements and other reports for senior management and external stakeholders
Manage the company's cash flow and treasury functions, including banking relationships and cash management strategies
Facilitate effective comprehension of performance, allowing for decision support to enhance financial and operational outcomes, by ensuring timely and insightful financial reporting and analysis utilizing agreed-upon KPIs
Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax laws, and other regulatory requirements
Identify and manage financial risks and opportunities, including investment and financing decisions
Manage the finance and accounting team, including hiring, training, and performance management
Establish and manage financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
Identify opportunities for cost reduction, operational efficiency, and process improvement
Develop and maintain effective supply inventory tracking system
Collaborate with other executive team members to develop and execute the company's overall strategy
Assume full ownership of high-level profit and loss, as well as departmental-specific profit and loss
Lead financial planning and analysis, forecasting, and budgeting processes to drive growth and profitability
Oversee all accounting and financial reporting activities, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements
Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices, and provide thought leadership on financial strategy and operations
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; advanced degree (MBA or CPA) preferred
Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a management role
Must have minimum three years experience on the provider side of the healthcare industry in a management position
Strong financial and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and provide insights to senior management
Proven history of developing and implementing financial strategies that support business growth
Experience managing a finance and accounting team, with a focus on talent development and team building
Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Strong knowledge of GAAP and other regulatory requirements
Impressive understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods
Ability to think strategically and analytically, and to provide thought leadership on financial strategy and operations
Experience developing financial and operational systems that improve business analysis and comprehension, and provide efficient decision support
Exceptional knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
Experience within multi-sites businesses and/or international exposure is preferred
