The Assistant Corporate Controller is a management level position accountable for assisting in all accounting, reporting, and compliance functions for the company. This includes handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading department staff. This position will report directly to the Corporate Controller and work closely with executive management.The ideal candidate will have management accounting experience in a consumer-packaged goods company. Expertise in GAAP and producing financial statements is required.Position Responsibilities

The Assistant Controller will manage and oversee the general ledger within the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial records, streamlining financial processes, and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making.Key Responsibilities:

General Ledger Management:

Oversee and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing activities.Ensure all financial transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP and company policies.

Financial Reporting:

Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and external stakeholders.

Inventory Management:

Maintain accurate inventory records and reconcile inventory accounts.Conduct regular inventory audits and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Process Improvement:

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting.Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for general ledger and inventory management.Collaborate with IT and other departments to leverage technology for better financial tracking and reporting.

Compliance and Controls:

Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.Assist in the development and maintenance of internal controls related to general ledger and inventory management.Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Experience/Training/Education

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field5 to 10 years of total accounting experience, with increasing managerial and leadership growthInventory accounting experienceExperience with ERP related software systems (preference for NetSuite or SAP)Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and WordExcellent communication skills, written and verbalStrong management skills and professionalismDeadline-focused and detail-orientedMeet Your Recruiter
