The Residential LPN will:
Assist the Registered Nurse (RN) in coordinating following through on provisions of healthcare servicesKeep progress notes and summarize for quarterly, semi-annual and annual reviewsProvide healthcare to individuals receiving services; provide direct hygiene and health instruction to individuals receiving services and families, as requiredHandle control of communicable diseases and infections through identification and assessmentProvide first aid to persons in need of immediate careAssist the Physicians in medical examinations, as neededSchedule appointments and follow up on Physicians' recommendationsKeep up to date and accurate records of examinations, immunizations, illnesses, accidents and other pertinent data via progress notesAdminister medications when appropriate.Perform other related duties, as requestedQualifications:
1+ year of experience as Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)Bachelor's DegreeNYS Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)CPR certificationExperience in the delivery of community-based health services to individuals with Developmental DisabilitiesKnowledge of equipment typically used by persons receiving services, including wheelchairs and adaptive devicesSolid assessment and documentation skillsGreat interpersonal skillsExcellent communication skills (written and verbal)Strong attention to detailHighly organized
