Summary
Under general supervision, is responsible for supporting Bexar County Information Technology team; will support the mission of the County, ensuring successful delivery of IT services as defined in the duties and responsibilities. This position will represent the County in a professional and effective manner and establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, County employees, Elected/Appointed Officials, outside organizations and agencies, vendors and the general public. Flexibility to achieve performance excellence in a telework arrangement.
Duties and Responsibilities
Acts as a liaison between various Offices and Departments to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate business requirements for changes to business processes, policies, business systems, and to support Enterprise Business Systems and Enterprise Architecture in the Demand assessment and screening processInteracts directly with customers to create visualizations for Business Use Cases, Business Processes and Workflows using Visio, SmartDraw or similar diagraming tool supporting Service Line solution architects. These visualizations specify, the system, the actors (those who interact with the system), the use cases (what the actors can do). They identify internal and external factors and the primary purpose of the use casesActs as a liaison between Offices and Departments and application vendors to coordinate support and upgrade readinessProvides technical support for the configuration and implementation of COTS (Commercial off the Shelf) software applications related to Enterprise Business SystemsAssists with maintaining and updating the technology portfolio for Enterprise Business SystemsEnsures software operation by providing support and assisting with the training of Enterprise Business Systems team and client personnel as it relates to Enterprise Business Systems solutionsPrepares accurate and detailed configuration and functional specification documents as well as standards and operating procedures.Creates training using computer-based training authoring tools such as CamtasiaSupports the Enterprise Business Systems service line in delivering robust solutions to the enterpriseInteracts with software, hardware, and/or professional services vendorsResponsible for effective communication through progress reports, user documentation, and formal presentations to teams and managementParticipates in efforts to evaluate, select, and implement third party software, vendors and/or service providersPerforms other related technology duties and projects as assignedMinimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a relevant degree, 1-3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceKnowledge of software configuration; knowledge of Enterprise Business SystemsHighly skilled in analytical and problem solving; skill with Windows server and desktop operating systems; skilled in implementing and administering Enterprise Business Systems solutions; skill with business systems, software testing, report writing, project management, and/or business analystAbility and willingness to learn new systems and technologies quickly; ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, County employees, Elected/Appointed Officials, outside organizations and agencies, vendors and the general publicDemonstrates technological intuitivenessMust secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearanceMust clear a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen testRequired to be on call 24 hoursMay be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweekMay be required to work weekendsThis position may need to satisfy the requirement of completing and passing an assessment during the employment processPreferred Qualifications:
